Adamawa2023: Sen. Binani Not on My Radar - Does She Really Gets Every Office She Aspires to At the First Time of Asking?

Image
Daily Rendezvous Binani was not on my mind and probably not on any political analyst mind, as a possible and formidable candidate to clinch the APC governorship ticket of the usually rancarous and chaotic APC. She made the least noise, the fewest of public movements but made the biggest of impacts on the D-Day, the primary. The Senator representing Adamawa Central, Engr. Aishatu Dahiru Binani surprised everyone when by the morning, she was announced to have emerged as APC candidate for the 2023 general elections beating Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the immediate past Governor of Adamawa state, Mohammed Umaru Jibrillah Bindow. The Adamawa Central political power house emerged as the first female governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Nigeria. When I went to sleep last night, I was pretty much sure that the "demons" that shadowed and pleagued APC in 2019 general elections have returned and are fully at work and that party primary would implode o...

PDP Primaries: History's About to Repeat itself

Image
Daily Rendezvous A concerned citizen in Adamawa has raised the alarm over the sloppy and mischievous conduct of PDP party primaries in the state. The concerned citizen who pleaded for anonymity says, he does not know why people always fail to learn from the past and improve on their behaviour going forward because it seems as if the ruling party in the state has not looked back and learn from it because the party primaries held in the state was a system that was completely rigged and corrupted to produce a prescribed outcome of distorted representation.and trust me, we all know the truth, we cannot deceive ourselves, we all know by now that no good would come from this kind of process. He said, "The PDP in Adamawa state has just concluded another round of party primaries to select its best candidates to fly the party's flag at the forthcoming general elections in 2023. Any smart politician would want to put it's best foot forward. So, the PDP has successfully e...

The Golden Fish - Nigeria: An Inspirational & Practical Submission on Way Forward for Nigeria

Image
Daily Rendezvous BY His Excellency Ambassador Anderson N  Madubike I arrived in Canberra, Australia on 19th May 2022 to commence my tour of duty as the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the commonwealth of Australia, with concurrent accreditation to New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. During this period, the world was of course experiencing its largest disruption since World War Il in every facet of human endeavour, the Covid-19 pandemic.  The pandemic has therefore caused damaging effects on economies and public life. While many countries in the world are facing severe dilemma and difficulties on revitalizing their national economies, developing economies most of whom are not particularly benefiting from the global economy are completely overwhelmed. With this background on my mind, I set out to plan on how best to broaden the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Australia and the other nations in the Pacific Region. Gospel Advancement Leadership Initiative Condemns Killing of Christian Girl in Sokoto

Image
Daily Rendezvous The Gospel Advancement, Leadership Initiative(GALI) condemn in strong terms the gruesome murder of Deborah Yakubu, a 200 level student of Economics at the Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto on account of religious intolerance.  We view this act of callousness and barbarism as unbecoming of students of a higher institution in Nigeria. Freedom of religion is a right enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999. Arising from the foregoing, no state is allowed to create a state religion. Citizens of this country are free to reside in any part of this Country and practice their religion without fear. Regrettably, the unchallenged gruesome murder of Deborah Yakubu goes to show that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a mere official window dressing document. To state that security operatives of the Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto were overpowered by the mob is purile, infantile and incapable of bein...
