Adamawa APC Primary On Hold Over Security Concerns By Billy Graham Abel Yola The Adamawa state APC gubernatorial primary has been put on hold over security concerns raised by some of the party stakeholders with regards the choice of venue for the primary. The primary which was scheduled to be held at the Mahmood Ribadu Square, has been faulted by party stakeholders who felt the venue is too opened, and miscreants can take advantage of the short porous nature of the venue to disrupt the party exercise. Earlier on the committee to conduct Adamawa state gubernatorial primary have arrived and have been meeting with all the key stakeholders in the party. Disclosing this in Osogbo at the stakeholders’ forum, Yakubu said that the new development would help to reduce vote-buying and selling which politicians have adopted. Recall that during the Ekiti state election in July, Yakubu  promised Nigerians that the commission would not allow vote-buying and selling in elections. UN Women Trains Media Practitioners on Gender Sensitive Reportage By Billy Graham Abel Yola The United Nations (UN) Media  network in Yola, has organised  a gender sensitive reportage training for Media practitioners in Adamawa state. The training which draws about 80 participants from various Media organisations in the state. The media practitioners were trained on the significance of placing gender issues in the news and the need to take advantage of the power of the media challenge politicians and policy makers and other key stakeholders to champion women's cause. A veteran journalist and broadcaster, Solomon Kumanga, while delivering his lecture, notes that the media role in setting the agenda is pivotal to addressing women's cause in Nigeria. Adamawa APC Adopts Indirect Primaries -As Speaker Berates APC NWC   By Billy Graham Abel Yola The State Executive Committee, SEC, of the APC in Adamawa state, has in a meeting adopted the indirect primaries as the method for selecting candidates that will hoist the flag of the party in all elective offices in the 2019 elections. The committee, led by the Secretary to the government of Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, adopted the method during its stakeholders meeting, Monday in Yola, Adamawa state. The SEC, cited the volatile security situation of the state, the financial burden and the inherent confusion that accompanies the direct primaries method as reasons why the indirect primaries would be the  best method for the state.
