Adamawa Guber: Fintiri Emerges PDP Flag Bearer By Billy Graham Abel Yola While the impasse prevails in the APC gubernatorial primary in Adamawa state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, has concluded it's gubernatorial primary with former Acting governor and one time speaker of the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, polling 1656 to emerge the PDP's gubernatorial flag bearer in the state. Fintiri floors four other challengers to emerge winner in the contest with his closest rival, Jameel Zubairu  polling 465, followed by former governor, Bala James Ngilari with 76 votes, Aliyu Ahmed, 8 votes and Umar Ardo with 1 vote. Fintiri rose to prominence when he impeached the then Adamawa state governor, Murtala Nyako, and succeeded him as the acting governor and cleared the backlog of salary arrears owed civil servants in the state.
